Abigail Bensman (she/her) is a native Texan…but she’s from AUSTIN, the cool part of Texas (Keep Austin Weird!), with a New Yorker mother, who introduced her to Musical Theatre and Broadway at a brain-chemistry-altering young age.
Abigail played the fun-loving and free-wheeling Brenda on the '23-'24 HAIRSPRAY BROADWAY NATIONAL TOUR, directed by Matt Lenz (the original Broadway associate director of Hairspray).
NEXT UP is Mean Girls (Cady Heron) at Queensbury Theatre! Abigail just closed Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Marilyn, U/S Cynthia) and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Logainne), both at TUTS / Theatre Under the Stars in Houston, directed by Dan Knechtges (the original Broadway choreographer of Spelling Bee) and starring Tony-nominee Kevin Cahoon as Panch.
Abigail is a Theatre Content Creator on TikTok, YouTube, and IG with 100K+ highly engaged followers. Her positive, relatable personality and signature phrase "Rooting for you" have built a loyal and supportive community. Abigail’s Spelling Bee content/videos have had over 8 Million+ views, across her 3 online platforms.
In Abigail's free time, she loves hanging with her rescue pets – 2 good dogs and 1 naughty cat.
